The influences that are currently guiding my works
I’m from Tea garden area of Assam, India. After my graduation I come back to my native place, and started to draw my feeling on my sketch book on the life of Tea Tribes (the workers of tea garden of Assam , who has came from tribal dominated area of India , in the half of 19th century).
Though they have come from different places of India they bought their own culture with them but gradually their living style, art and culture, language assimilates with the atmosphere of Assam . My thinking and feelings of mankind deeply influenced by the hard working, poverty-prone life but their true love to the nature, their rhythmic tune of culture. I feel the distress of the tea tribe and it automatically surfaces in my visual expression.
I have tried to make sculpture and draw paintings with my feelings of their struggling life. These people are very poor but very sensitive to nature. My several works reflects their joy and sorrow, poverty, art and culture.
Mainly human life is the subject matter of my works. The atmosphere or the people living surrounded me are the objects of my works. Art is the aesthetic media which can express the automatic thinking and feelings. I have been trying to express my inner feeling through my sculptures and paintings.
The day to day happenings of our surrounding also provide me immense influence. The current incidents that took place in the north eastern India like terrorism, bomb blast, ethnic clashes, religious clash, exploitation of man by man, social injustice etc hearted me and the feelings automatically surfaces in my works.
